Chairman
Khaled k. El Hamedi

was graduated in the year 1996 from Al-Fateh University , Faculty of Engineering, Department of Computer Science. Immediately upon graduation he established the National Consulting and Inspection Bureau in the year 1997. Thanks to his indefatigable efforts, perseverance, persistent and diligent work, clear projections of work market requirements, he developed the National Bureau to become a holding company where the National Bureau and the National Engineering Inspection Company were considered as the nucleus from which emerged the National Engineer Holding Group that encompasses various other subsidiary companies. In 2001, Eng. Khaled k. El Hamedi obtained the Master Degree with honour in the field of Business Administration and Communications from the International University of Geneva. He is also known of his prominent activities in charity and philanthropic work crowned in 2002 by assuming the position of President of the International Organization for Peace, Care and Relief.(IOPCR).

A Libyan businessman and philanthropist, Khaled El-Hamedi, has been selected for induction into this years Champion of Digital Literacy Hall of Fame and was given the program's highest honor, the Inspiration Award, for his work in promoting computer literacy in Libya. El-Hamedi has a history of working for humanitarian causes. In addition to being chairman of ENG Holdings he is also the president of International Organization for Peace, Care and Relief (IOPCR), an NGO that partnered with UNHCR, the UN refugee Agency and many other international bodies working in the humanitarian field .
El-Hamedi's educational background in computer science engineering led him to have an enduring belief in the benefits of computing and IT skills. In 2004, El-Hamedi started promoting computer training in Libya after witnessing the country's struggle to enter the digital age after 25 years of sanction and embargoes. “For any country to thrive in this modern digital age era its essential that there is a basic understanding of computing in the general population,” said Mr Khaled El-Hamedi. “We in Libya have suffered from the embargo and we are behind in the development of digital literacy. It's so important that we bring these skills and credentials to my country in order to fill this void and be updated in our technology.”
Over 30,000 public and private workers in Libya have been trained and certified through the efforts of El-Hamedi. Introducing new techniques and technologies to build employability skills was no easy task. El Hamedi contacted government ministries to offer digital literacy training and certification programs custom-made to fit their employees.Working through the branch of ENG Holdings that oversees the IT training he set up training centers, organized training programs and provided technical support for digital literacy learners.
